Giuliana Catalano – Basketball
With over a decade of competitive playing experience, Giuliana brings passion, leadership, and a strong understanding of the game to every athlete I work with. She was a four-year varsity athlete, team captain, and an Open Division Southern California champion. In addition to youth head coaching experience, Giuliana spent years focusing on skill development for players ages 7–15. Her approach emphasizes building basketball IQ, sharpening fundamentals, and developing confidence that translates beyond the court. Giuliana is committed to helping young athletes grow through intentional coaching and a positive, supportive environment that brings out their best.
Perek Belleh – Soccer
Perek brings a wealth of professional playing and coaching experience to North County Sports Academy. He played professionally for BSV Emden Kickers, New England Revolution, and Rochester New York FC and is currently a Head Coach for Encinitas Express Soccer Club. Holding a USSF National B License, Perek has coached at various levels, including: Sage Creek HS Boys Varsity, LeMoyne College, Gremio San Diego, FC Red & Blacks, & Corcoran HS Boys Varsity. As the founder of Golden Ball Agency, a soccer recruiting firm, Perek is passionate about player development and career growth. With over 16 years of coaching experience, he has trained boys and girls ages 5-22, helping them improve their skills and confidence. Corbin Coates - football (flag & tackle)
Coach Corbin strives to keep football fun, fast, and focused. With over a decade of experience in the game, he has mastered the art of technique and player development. He currently serves as the Defensive Passing Game Coordinator and Secondary Coach at Fallbrook High School — the same program he once played for, earning 1st Team All-Valley League honors at cornerback. Beyond the high school field, Coach Corbin is active in the 7-on-7 football community, where he helps athletes refine their skills and compete at a high level year-round. His ultimate goal is to help every young athlete build confidence, compete with purpose, and develop a lifelong love for the game.
Robbie Wood – Baseball
Robbie brings nearly two decades of baseball experience to North County Sports Academy. A standout infielder at La Costa Canyon High School, he spent four years anchoring the infield as a shortstop and third baseman, building a strong foundation in both skill and baseball IQ. With 17 years of total playing experience and 4 years of coaching experience, he has worked with boys & girls ages 4–15 through both group clinics and private instruction. His passion lies in teaching the game the right way—emphasizing fundamentals, smart decision-making, and building confidence at every level. Robbie’s hands-on, fundamentals-first approach makes him a valuable asset to the NCSA's coaching staff. Kelly nutter – Softball
Kelly was a standout four-year Varsity player at La Costa Canyon High School, showcasing her skills as a top competitor. She began her collegiate career at Cal State San Marcos before transferring to Palomar College. Currently, Kelly is a starting middle infielder at Whittier College, where she is also pursuing a degree in Sociology. With coaching experience at No Fear Softball and Firecracker Brashear, Kelly has worked with boys and girls ages 5-16 for over 5 years, helping young athletes build confidence and refine their skills. Miles Weaver – Basketball
Miles is currently the Head Freshman Basketball Coach at Poway High School. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Sport Management from the University of Kansas. He brings four years of varsity high school playing experience and three years of AAU coaching, including time with the nationally respected MOKAN Basketball program. Miles has also interned and assisted alongside professional trainers, helping develop elite high school, Division I, and professional-level athletes. His training emphasizes skill development, basketball IQ, and long-term player growth. He specializes in training boys & girls, ages 8-17. Bri Fernandez – Soccer
Bri has played soccer for more than 10 years including at the Club and University levels. She is currently studying Kinesiology at Cal State San Marcos & has also worked with collegiate teams through athletic training. Bri loves coaching young players & focuses on building skills, confidence, & teamwork. She is especially passionate about supporting women’s sports and creating positive, encouraging environments for all athletes. With over 4 years of coaching experience, Bri has trained boys and girls ages 3-15, helping young athletes build their confidence, skills, and love for the game. With over two decades of coaching experience, Michael brings an unwavering passion for player development and a strong commitment to excellence. He spent 20 years coaching within the San Marcos Unified School District, where he earned a stellar reputation for building competitive, disciplined, and hardworking teams rooted in integrity. A proud Vista High School alumnus, he returned to his alma mater to join the coaching staff, bringing his career full circle. As a former CIF champion during his playing days at Vista, his deep connection to the school’s athletic legacy continues to inspire his dedication to developing the next generation of Panthers. Michael's coaching philosophy is simple yet powerful: “Work hard, compete, and have fun.” He believes hard work fuels healthy competition—and when athletes compete at their highest level, the game becomes its most rewarding. Will locken – Baseball
Will was a standout utility player and pitcher at Santa Fe Christian High School before continuing his baseball career at the University of La Verne. His deep understanding of multiple positions gives him a well-rounded approach to player development. With over 7 years of coaching experience, Will has worked with boys and girls ages 4-17, helping young athletes refine their skills and grow their love for the game. He has coached at Santa Fe Christian High School and Warrior's Travel Baseball, bringing his expertise to competitive and recreational players alike. With a degree in Sports Management and a background as a former college athlete, Zoe brings firsthand experience and dedication to her coaching roles. She played collegiate basketball at Southern Maine Community College and Lesley University, gaining valuable on-court experience and a deep understanding of the game. As an Internship Coordinator at Sidekick Sports Academy, Zoe mentored student-athletes, helping them develop leadership and coaching skills while working with youth athletes. David has competed at the highest levels of soccer, including the U.S. Soccer Development Academy, collegiate play at Palomar College, and California State University San Marcos. With nearly 20 years of playing experience and a degree in Kinesiology in progress, he brings both knowledge and passion to the field. David is dedicated to helping players of all levels grow, improve, and reach their goals. With over 8 years of coaching experience, David has worked with athletes ages 5–18 years old. TJ brings 11 years of football experience to North County Sports Academy. As a standout Running Back and Linebacker at Downers Grove South High School, he helped lead his team to a State Championship. He then went on to play Division I football at Grambling State University. Currently, TJ serves as an Assistant Freshman Coach & Running Back/Linebacker Coach at San Marcos High School, where he continues to develop young athletes. With over 8 years of coaching experience, TJ has trained boys and girls ages 5-18 in both Tackle and Flag Football. He is available for Private Lessons and also oversees our Clinics & Camps. darrell miller – Baseball
Darrell was a standout catcher in high school before continuing his baseball career at UCLA. In 2012, he was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies and went on to play professionally for the Kansas City Royals, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Chicago White Sox organizations. With over 12 years of coaching experience, Darrell has worked with boys and girls ages 4-21, helping players refine their skills and develop their game. He has also coached at the high school level, bringing his professional experience to young athletes. Darrell is available for Private Lessons and also assists with our Clinics & Camps. paul giannelli - Founder
Paul was a multi-sport athlete growing up before focusing on baseball at the collegiate level. He played at Farmingdale State University before transferring to St. John’s University, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Sport Management & Business. With over 15 years of coaching experience, Paul has worked with athletes ages 3-23 at various levels, including: St. John’s University Men’s Baseball, Don Bosco Prep HS Varsity Baseball, & New York Yankees Summer Camp. Paul now oversees the day-to-day operations of NCSA, ensuring a top-tier experience for all athletes. His extensive coaching background and leadership make him an invaluable part of the team.
